On being: Failures of past relationships can make us anxious but if we become aware of our flaws and fears, we might come to understand that we are all going through the same human experience, that we all feel broken in some way and that striving for absolute perfection sets the bar high and unattainable. The reward comes in the progress of learning— and accepting that the real work of love is what comes after falling. There’s no such thing as a “normal” love life. Love stumbles and evolves. It’s a gamble, and it’s challenging, but approaching relationships with an understanding of their complexity and with a certain curiosity without judgement allows for much better connections.
